When my youngest son graduated from college and moved away from home I turned his room into my sewing sanctuary. I love the dark red walls and didn’t want to repaint so I added track lighting and that did the trick. I have the Koala CraftPro Plus at the 35 inch level to accommodate 2 sewing machines and my cutting mat. I placed a comfortable chair in the corner for handwork and so my husband would have a comfortable place to sit when he comes upstairs to spent time with me. I also placed a flat screen TV so it is easily viewed from my sewing cabinet or the chair. The room has a bonus to it, a very large walk in closet. I love my sewing room, my husband calls it the ‘mom cave.’

Perfect! Your sanctuary is what we have tried to create. So many enthusiasts like yourself have inspired our ideas and our designs. Ed Moore, Koala Studios.

I love your room. Thank you for making it a part of your life by decorating it. I am still planning exactly what I need in my sewing space, and hope to be in a Koala Studio in 2014. Thank you for the inspiration and the design ideas.

I was seriously looking at this model but I could get no information on using it for a sewing machine station from Koala or my local dealer. I was told by Koala that it “should” work but she was not sure. I wanted it for my Ellisimo and Evolution because they are too large to be fit through the cut out on the airlift stations
I would so love to see a picture of how it is positioned, where your feet end up, what kind of knee room it has, where the electric and foot control cords are positioned, etc. A picture from the angle of sitting and sewing would be ever so helpful. I see there are closed doors on the pone photo that you uploaded. Do those open to support the use of another machine? Are they optional? Are they on both sides? Are you able to use the chair and the foot pedals? Or just stand?

    Hi Sandra,
Sorry, I just saw your message. I use a Bernina 820 in one space and a 730 in the other. My daughter in law sews with me sometimes so I leave 2 machines set up most of the time. We use drafting chairs and the foot pedal rests on a low shelf and works just fine. I can adjust the chairs up or down as needed and the pedal works great.
Hope my message isn’t too late for you. I love this cabinet. We even have a cutting mat on it most of the time and have plenty of room.

I really love your Mom cave, planning on re-setting up mine when I move and I will definitely keep this one in mind as I set my cave up my new room.
