1. Assembled in the USA

About Koala Studios

All Koala Studios are assembled by American Craftsmen in the USA. They are beautiful in their design and appearance and are built with the best materials and utmost care, providing a lifetime of enjoyment.

2. Rounded Beveled Edges

About Koala Studios

Koala Studios feature rounded corners and beveled edges, enhancing the Studio’s appearance and eliminating corners that snag fabric.

To achieve this, each board is precisely shaped with a computer-controlled diamond tip router, eliminating the need for saws that leave sharp edges.

To incorporate this advanced design features, the wood core must be made from a dense, high-grade 3/4-inch fiberboard with no imperfections.

3. Rich Elegant Veneer

About Koala Studios

Koala Studios are available in eight elegant finishes and will enhance any decor.

Each studio is finished in the same rich veneer and color inside and out and top to bottom, making it as beautiful opened as it is closed.

The veneer is applied through an advanced process called thermo-forming, which encapsulates the entire board and eliminates the need for edge banding.

The finish is a thick vinyl veneer that is hard-wearing, scratch-resistant, water-resistant, and easy to clean.

4. Remote controlled G3 Electric Glide Lift

About Koala Studios

Koala Studios’ innovative lift design enables the operator to effortlessly position their machine at any level with the push of a button. The user has a choice between a hand-held remote control and a built-in toggle switch.

The Koala G2 Lift has been designed to support all machines and provide a stable platform at every position. Two solid rails extend the full length of the lift platform, and the direct drive rack and pinion system moves your machine smoothly and quietly.

For the largest, heaviest machines, Koala’s optional G3 XL Lift provides extra space and support. The XL Lift is available on several studio models.

5. Large Capacity Full-Extension Drawers

About Koala Studios

Koala Studios feature full-extension drawers that glide open and close softly. The silent soft-closing hydraulic cushion makes the drawers impossible to slam.

The 5/8-inch framed drawer boxes combined with the steel drawer glides are weight tested to hold up to 120lbs. fully extended.

6. Multifunctional Bi-Fold Doors- Notion & Fabric Palettes

About Koala Studios

Koala Studios provide flexibility to minimize or maximize the Studio’s designated space by using or removing the Multifunctional Bi-Fold Doors.

If space is minimal, the doors can be folded flush to the sides of the Studio, or the doors can be easily removed.

If room permits, usable surface space or storage can be added to the left or right by attaching Notion & Fabric Palettes to the weight-bearing doors.

The Palettes can be positioned withing a 270-degree radius, providing usable surface areas where needed to support a variety of projects.

All studios are designed to pair together and if needed, the Bi-Fold Doors can be removed and stored.

7. Customizable Options in Width & Height

About Koala Studios

Koala Studios based models are built in widths of 27, 36, 53, and 70 inches. Each model’s footprint can be minimized or maximized depending on the Studio’s designated space.

Choosing the ergonomically-correct height of a Studio is a personal decision based on the individual’s desire to create while sitting, standing, or both. Koala Studios have options in heights of 29 1/4, 32 1/4, 35 1/4, and 38 1/4 inches.

At 35 1/4 and 38 1/4 inches, Koala Studios can be used comfortably while standing for cutting and placement of fabric. The taller height studios can also be used comfortably while sitting with the adjustable Foot-Control Rest and adjustable Koala Sew Comfort Chair.

8. Customizable Options in Shelving, Storage & Accessories

About Koala Studios

The surface and storage areas of your Studio can be maximized with an outback leaf extension, outback shelves and storage boxes. This is ideal when the Studio is positioned toward the center of the room, allowing access from every side.

A custom matching machine insert allows the Studio to be used by any brand or model of machine and enables the fabric to glide over the Studio surface.

9. Top Drawer Delivery

About Koala Studios

Koala Studios Top Drawer Delivery Service is a premium in-home delivery option that delivers the Studio into the owner’s home and room of their choice. The Studio arrives assembled and after the delivery team positions it, the owner only needs to attache their palettes, adjustable shelves, and accessories.

10. Lifetime Warranty

625_warranty

Koala Studio’s Lifetime Warranty protects against manufacturer’s defects in the workmanship and materials and is our promise of quality and responsibility.

The location of Koala’s American factory and superior design enable components of the Studio to be repaired or have a component replaced in case of damage, restoring the Studio to its original condition.

I purchased a koala cabinet from an estate sale. Now I am moving and have to transport it up a couple sets of stairs and the good quality (weight) is working against me. Is there a way to take it apart (without damaging it) so it’s easier to move? Otherwise I will have to sell it.

My mother recently passed away and I inherited her koala sewing cabinet and sewing machine. It does not have an electric lift so it must be an older model. I can’t for the life of me figure out how to lift the machine to table top. Help!

Push lightly on both sides of the shelf that lifts and it will pop up. It may take a couple of times to get it to release. Good luck.

I bought a Koala QuiltPro Plus IV and am happy with the quality of the piece…with one exception. I purchased two of the Thread Treasure chests to fill the openings on both sides of the unit. I love the ease of the full extension drawers on the cabinet and expected the thread chests to work well. They do not. The entire 3-drawer piece slides all around the opening as I try to pull open a drawer. I put down some grip material to help prevent that, but the drawers are so difficult to open it doesn’t solve the problem. In order to open a drawer I must use both hands…one to hold the unit and one to pull the drawer and frequently the drawer I am pulling “grabs” another drawer in the process and I am struggling with two drawers at once. Even the grip fabric can’t prevent a shift on the unit when this happens. As a result, I have not used them for thread. In fact, I do not use them at all.

My question to you…is it possible to order full extension drawers to fit these openings? They would be far more useful than an open shelf or a thread unit I struggle to open all the time.

I have used the room planner to try and plan for a place for a sewing table. I am getting the Destiny II sewing machine. I like the new slimline series, but I won’t be able to fully extend to the 108″ of the table. I only have 82-83″ that I can use. Can one of the extension be left off?

I’m an interior designer and have a client that I am helping with a hobby/craft room. I’m looking at the finish options on your sewing tables. Can you tell me what brand of laminate you use and are these names the names that they use. I would like to see the finishes in person. Or, do you have finish samples that you can send. I’m just trying to coordinate everything as well as possible. Thanks.

Hi Angela! Thanks for reaching out. Koala Studios come in eight finishes. You can see them at the end of this post: http://mykoalastudio.com/2017/10/koala-designpro/ or visit a nearby Koala Studios retailer to see them in person. We are not able to provide the brand of laminate that is used due to the proprietary rights to the Koala designs and brand.

I Purchased a Koala Pro Plus IV in Canadian Maple in 2010 and have absolutely loved it. Everything has worked perfectly and looked as good as the day I purchased it. That is until we moved from Alaska to Nevada. I was devastated to discover that the extreme heat caused many of the edges on the cabinet to roll up. Is there a way to repair it or purchase a replacement top? Any assistance would be greatly appreciated as the whole studio has served me extremely well over the years. Thank you.

I have a small room for my quilt piecing. 10×11 with a window in the corner. I currently have the corner and left side of a sectional desk. I have my machine on the corner so that I have the natural light, deeper table top and save some space in my room. I put a work table to the right, on risers, for my cutting. I would love to have a corner table that would lift and lower my BabyLock Unity machine but there is nothing with a corner unit. Are there any plans for some corner units.

I have a Koala Sewing Chair that I purchased at the Road to California Quilt Show a few years ago. The seat of the chair tilts forward and I slide off the seat. My husband has tried to remedy this problem but with no success. Why does the chair tilt forward? I cannot use it at the highest level because I slide off the chair. I cannot use it lower because I cannot sit with my back against the chair without sliding forward. I am ready to throw this chair away. Any suggestions?

HI! I purchased the Artisan Studio cabinet. I love it! I use it all the time. This is my 2nd Koala cabinet. The first one purchased in 2002. However, I have a little problem. There are several scratches on my cabinet top. It is a working unit & I use it. I try to be careful but it seems that the top scratches all too easily. I inspected my other koala cabinet and it does not have anywhere near the scratches on it as this one does and I used the heck out that thing. I have only owned this cabinet for a year or so. What can I do to remove them?

I cannot to find the standard Treasure Chest online. In the broachure it’s shows, right and left pallets attached to the doors and storage compartment with adjustable shelves. I purchased a Design Center Plus IV in 2011 and have absolutely loved it! However, today we put the doors in to a covered vehicle to move them and apparently the warmer temps have caused the laminate to peel up and loosen on all of the edges of the doors and shelves. This was only after about an hour in the vehicle. I hope we can get this resolved soon! Thank you

We put together my Tiara Studio table and wanted to make you aware of two of the issues we encountered. First, not enough wooden pegs were included for the installation. We were able to pick some up at the hardware store.

Second, one side of the table fit perfectly into the legs, but the other side was a problem since the peg holes on top of the table were not in alignment with the legs. So we eliminated the pegs from both sides and just used the cam lock pins.

The table is together and seems to be stable.

Is there any way of ordering a free standing rolling cabinet with drawers, and includes the embroidery hoop and base storage with two of the tilt down thread holders? I would greatly love to have one manufactured for my purchasing. I would anticipate others would also purchase.

    HI,

    Two questions:
    1) I have a couple of broken casters on my table. I would like to replace them all with casters that are more heavy duty. What is the size of the screw-in stem? (1/4″, 3/8″, or something else);
    2) I currently have a Babylock Destiny but will soon be getting a Solaris. Are there any plans in the works to provide a replacement for the embroidery arm drawer that will allow for storage of the larger Solaris arm. If not, I love the idea posed by Eva Yong regarding a separate storage cabinet with room for embroidery arm storage.
